How 5o9® Software Works
5o9® Mobile Service Manager incorporates three must have elements to remove the barriers to mobile Web service adoption: 1) The ability to automatically customize browser menus based upon both the Web service being accessed and the contextual data being supplied; 2) Privacy controls with built in encryption; and 3) Content acceleration to optimize content delivery for reduced bandwidth and battery consumption.

This is a significant enhancement over our core team’s previous contribution to the Open Source community – Mod_gzip - and vital to supporting mobile Web communications which typically have greater latency than desktop networks. The server component of our current commercial offering, the 5o9® Mobile Service Manager, installs into your existing infrastructure and features enhanced content acceleration that is designed to adapt as your company’s mobile Web service strategy evolves.

5o9 How it works

Our browser plug-in connects via APIs to your client “applets” to aggregate, secure and deliver user, device, and location data to the Web server. This includes any contextual data available via user entry (such as name or employee login) or any available API call, including data accessible via a Bluetooth connection. By adding simple HTML scripts to your Web pages, our client software converts the browser menu into an application-like mobile navigation interface that supports contextually relevant menus for each user, service or web page.

Supports Your Existing Infrastructure

5o9® is infrastructure software that scales to both new devices and networks. The server component works with both Apache and Microsoft IIS Web servers and the client applications are designed to work with any device built upon a high-level operating system such as Windows Mobile, RIM, Symbian, Windows XP/Vista and Linux.

Installation and configuration follows accepted IT processes and Web open standards are respected. So whether your Web service supports smartphones, in-car devices, laptops, Pocket PCs or something yet to come, and your users are connected via a mobile carrier, LAN, Dial-Up or Wi-Fi network, 5o9® software will support your existing work habits and infrastructure.
