Q: How does your software work?
A: 5o9® Me software functions as a Web server filter and a mobile application. For more detailed information, please visit How it Works.
Q: Does 5o9 ever see my users’ data?
A: 5o9 Me is software, not a service, “mediator” or transcoding engine. We never see, intercept or forward your data. Your data privacy policies are between you and your mobile users.
Q: What data comes standard with your application?
A: 5o9® Me Free Trial: The following data, if it is available from the device, is transmitted by the 5o9® Me application. The mobile user determines what data and with which Web sites they will share their data. Data is not encrypted.

5o9® EZMobile: Every business is different, so you determine what information you need to deliver to your Web applications. We simply provide the transport mechanism to get it there.
The standard configuration of 5o9® EZMobile accesses a few types of basic device data such as device type, OS and screen properties for troubleshooting purposes only. NO personally identifying or location data is ever transmitted. The diagnostic data may be used to confirm successful installation or when you or your support partner needs to troubleshoot service problems.
Q: My Blackberry Version appeared to install correctly but it’s not sending any data. What is wrong ?
A: More than likely, your default browser filtering permissions have not been set to ALLOW. This must be done before installing this application. To change your device settings:
1. Go to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Applications (on some devices you may go directly to the Options icon)
2. Press the Menu key and select: Edit Default Permissions
3. Expand the Interactions category by highlighting it and then pressing the space bar
4. Scroll down to Browser Filtering and then press the space bar to set it to Allow
5. Press the ESC (Back Key) – “Save Changes” – Yes
6. Press the ESC (Back Key) four times to return to the home icons
Corporate Blackberry Users: If you are connected to a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) please check with your admin to verify that corporate settings for Browser Filtering are set to Allow. BES settings take priority over individual device settings. This is not an issue for BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) users.
Q: Can I be sure no one else sees my mobile users’ data?
A: All 5o9® EZMobile clients and servers are paired to a fully qualified URL that front-ends your Web application. Data from your user’s client-side mobile application cannot be sent to another company’s Web site. All data is encrypted during transport. The free trial version has a user-entered URL white list to restrict where the data is sent. This version does not include encryption.
Q: Do you support on-device branding?
A: In most cases, users will spend their time in the browser. Branding your application is replaced with your branded Web pages and services. 5o9® EZMobile is designed to allow you to build and brand your own custom application – we run in the background. 5o9® Me may be custom branded for a fee. Should you require an OEM branded version at the file level, please contact us for costs and copyright notice requirements.
Q: What if I already have a mobile application and just need to add one or two pieces of data?
A: Not a problem. Many applications were built before GPS or other features were added to smartphones and Pocket PCs. The additional contextual data can go along for the ride when you make your sockets call. APIs are available for easy integration.
Q: Is your software expensive?
A: We have strived to keep our software affordable to most businesses and business models. Unlike a mobile service provider or mobile application development platform, 5o9® is a software company and does not require you to buy dedicated hardware or share transactional revenue. 5o9® Me is a available at no charge, so you may evaluate Mobile Web services at no risk. The cost for a 5o9® EZMobile license is dependent upon your configuration. Please contact us or a 5o9® partner to determine the configuration and pricing that is right for your needs.
Q: Where can I buy your software?
A: 5o9 sells its software through a channel of Web application and mobile developers. We are happy to give you an online demonstration or you may download our free version. If you do not have an internal development team, we’ll help you find the right development partner.
